By the end of your 8th month your baby:
- Is about 18 - 20 long
- Can weigh between 5 and 6 pounds
- Gaining about 1/2 pound per week, mostly in fat deposits
- May do more twisting and wriggling and less kicking as his space is getting tighter
- May have moved head down
- Sleeps through regular periods of REM and deep sleep
- Baby's brain is growing rapidly
- Most of the internal organs are fully developed (although the lungs may need more time)
- Baby hiccups
